Rosemary MacLennan -Crump

  Rosemary MacLennan -Crump

Rosemary is an artist who embodies various skills that enable her to be a great community art project leader. She is very innovative with amazing communication skills combined with great artistic skills which include performing skills and acting. She has the ability to put an idea together using her admin and accounting skills when applying for funding and these skills have enabled her to execute ideas.  With her being a great listener and observer of the space, seeing something that can enrich the community she bring things together to make them happen such as Bulwell Arts Festival, started in 2014. Although Rosemary set this up it continues to grow each year as a testament to her character and ability to make something happen and for it to potentially have a lasting impact.

Rosemary grew up in Basford and studied for a GNVQ Level 3 in Art in 1998 where she had a rich supportive art education at South Notts College in Clifton. Moving on to Birmingham to study for two years of her degree she completed this experience through the Open University where she studies both History of art and Fine Art.

After this, she was a freelance artist at the Wildlife Trust. This followed up training to be a teacher. It is clear that Rosemary Maclennan -Crump

has a great set of skills that she has developed over the years through her studies

Taking on a volunteering position at South Notts

College left a lasting impression as she returned in later years to gain her teaching qualification within art when she had a child in 2004

She has a natural way with people that I can say is a strength that enables her to flourish within the art sector. I would like to say that I take this on board to bring the positive part of me to the art situation such as a community art project

A few years ago, I went for an art project in Cobern Chambers in Nottingham and although I did not get it, I came second in the number of votes I got for my idea.

However, I lacked in a few skills such as organisational and administrative skills. .

There is a lot I can take from Rosemary such as accounting skills, paperwork, and a breakdown of the plan of action because I think this could be a direction I could enjoy. Currently, I am seeking somewhere I can volunteer where I can deliver something that is within the arts .
