exhbiton lakeside sculpture

Arrived at the gallery i decided to start my tour from the back and make my way to front looking at the work however as I stood in from the entrance the room the art work appeared to have a flow that worked it didn't feel to clutted shapes and textures blended well . One of the 1st pieces I looked at was these objects for me instantly thoughts heads and fencing mask  . I was draw to it for its use of colour and shape and element of textile The other piece that I like was this maybe the fluid movement and makes me think of the human figure I can see a person nealing the artist
If I am entirely honest nothing truely grabbed me as a view or artist . I  am attracted to more colour and shape . With an all female line up am not sure if it makes more intresting or if I appreciate it more because its women . I am not hundred percent within knowledge of Barbara Hepworths work but as a lengdary female sculpture I found the painting near the entry intresting . The story I have in my head was like a show of respect. I find the space quit tight although the objects complemented each other to look at .

Ambaguity

Ambiguity is the uncertainty, the unknowing, the non-specific when you cannot quite grab the place or label for interpretation. This gives some kind of open poetic, open chaotic place to be which can be liberating or imprisoning . An element of ambiguity in art is a mystery. A person can look at a visual piece of art or hear a beautiful sound or piece of music or sculpture and there is a thirst to draw similarity give it a label identity or meaning.

The brain searches for familiarity, to place ourselves with it because things may look or sound different and some minds like to seek familiarity and clarity and to give something a name. We seek clarity to place it in a genre, a place, a home . This could be called the unrested mind. For you will be taking in that moment and seeing it, tasting that what is before you. Although some work may command your view it strikes you for its ambiguity something you are unable to place. This could be intentional as when art is ambiguous it stands out .

When thinking about an artist I decide to google and find something I was drawn to.
Through doing this search I found the artist Jade` Fadojutimi. I was drawn to her work and I looked further listening to conversations about her process, from her studio feeling like a bedroom to her love of anime and life escape and soundtracks influencing her mood and that it can be like a dance. She does not see titles as important although once she has a title it levels up the completion and she says a title can bring something to the work. I find her work strikingly playful, the vibrant colours and the honesty with various moods trapped but free, fluid and soft. To the eye, some may look at her work and simply see it as abstract

She does not share the thoughts and influences behind the artwork so the interpretation is with the viewer.
Jade does not start with a titled work but works to a process often to music and also takes inspiration from colour .

Adam Baker is an abstract figurative painter looking at his work I find it to be abstract in its approach of painting what appears to be people. Focusing on the faces that neither look happy nor sad there is a clown element to them that is also quite unsettlling and unknowing although you look at the physical expression and there appears to be some kind of normal. the faces leave you unknowing

What is an Authorship

When looking at some of the  text taken out of various chapters in Foucault what is an author he is attempting to break down the authorship pulling away from the ownership titles and boundaries lines  with an open set of  ideas that has me unable to grip on to a concrete answer.

He is deconstructing the the idea of the value and the weight of the word tilted author how and should that person have such a title ? While thinking about this another thought comes to mind that there are many stories or pieces of art work that we all know so well and how its weaved into our lives and no many may not bother to question the authorship  that also makes me think how sometimes although the text or song can out weighs the author.

As in like story or a song that travels many miles yet nobody knows who wrote it and some may never question .  I will focus on the what is an author .

When I think of an author I think of the writer the person that delivered the work the painter the same and this makes you put a name or face an Identity It never occurred to me to separate the writer from the author the style of work that is presented in front of you . Why would I think otherwise or am I simple ignorant to knowledge of ownership .

If I dismantle that idea into where the inspiration and ideas come into play taken from other areas other than the current artist itself is anything truly original.
And if someone has written something  in a present time with historical context and is for example influenced by Shakespeare does this take away from the writer before you. For me this is not, so but ones obsession for originality could doom the work as a failure.

Everyday we are consciously or subconsciously taken by influence to some extent but how do we determine that so much of the work is original so much is not . Is it about optimising opportunity and and seasing the opportunity to name and claim something in a capitalistic world to make profit

On surface pieces of work can look similar to another how ever there root to and journey towards the pieces deliver could be a very different influence and one could however influence and being impressionable can lead a to feeling inadequate or feeling grateful for path of influence laying before us. But in order to fly one must shake these shackles and to and stand bravely in there authorship

an ideas of the past he makes the point does this make them the author. As an individual author there is the want and need for your work being recognised signing the work even if it is not your proper name . It is as almost just writing a piece should be or maybe not enough and that we should humble and grateful just the allow your work to drift into the world with no ties but this is not how many think. Although there are something we properly wouldn't question like the invention of toilet.

So I am seeking an artist where I can say that original that there work authorship. Banksy is a modern artist who makes  the whole experience of Banksy an art From us not knowing his name to element of surprise as to where he places his work on a street to the value we place on his work and it being shredded in a photo frame . Banksy apppear to understand modern times hype popularity element of surprise with street art mix that with elite art world the something of an original act all though . My knowledge of street artist has always secret hush hush.

art Exhibition 2

The other day I went to an Art exhibition  at St Marys Church Lace Market Nottingham it a beautiful old church that has been there since around 1475 with its beautiful high sealing and lovely church windows . Shades Of Green was the title of the art exhibition with 13 artist at the exhibition as  I walked into

St Marys church I was taken in by the space and the beautiful display of the church it self there is something about a church that makes you act more peaceful and than normal especially when its so historically magical look a piece of art its self one of the 1st Pieces  I looked at where the three birds they was pretty in the space .

I then went on to look at three photos that looked very ambiguous for I couldn't tell what they were it intrigued me but due to the positioning of the work and the light shining directly on the photos framed something that doesn't appear to be intentional this is dispointing as the work looked intresting I took a photo.

For me it was clear that there was an artist that clearly stooded out and carried this exhibition
the artist work used oil paints and oil sticks with a great landscape pieces that pulled you in almost like visiting a place . If I would return to it another day I got the impression that I would see further beyond what I first saw.

Mono printing

Today we did mono print . Mono print useing oil based ink useing bits of nature leaves although i have done this process before it was worth revisting these are the following images that
This one has me invisioning a beautiful kimone
The lines on this one makes me think energy life kaos

Continuing to use the wax image. Started with imprint with clay now print with oil based  ink.
Inking  up the wax with a sponge and then press paper and fabric on top. This is three images with the glass.
Here are the results
I am not sure if I like all of these
I would probably cut out or bring something more to this image.
This black print is giving me a haunting vibe looks like a etching print Rembrandt vibes

More exploring taking work into 3d

Fabricated nature further exploration

As I continue my studies I refer back to the original sketches here is further 3d development.  Useing parcel paper wire and masking tape bring life with previous ideas
When going to the 3d element my instant thought is to dive in and to not seek perfection to look like elements of nature screwing up paper cutting but not nearly adds to messy sense of letting go and except . And not trying to be

I then decide to photocopy pieces this gave the images bellow I even  photocopied the work from the 3d room and placed them together as a compotion . For me this works
As I placed the objects on to the printer I was unable to shut properly cause of the size of the objects this made light snap through and gave me the results I also overlayed photocopy then layering up again  results from photocopying
Pushing further where I could take this as I liked what I had created for its depth. And to push on would open up to more possibilities useing a pink hue and some light it appears to have given it a look that resembles xrays photogram . I love it for now I will sit with this but I would like to bring back into the element of 3d . I am enjoy the jurney am still unsure of where would like to take this.  And does it really matter.

Take the prints further

Today  I decide to explore one of the prints I created last week photo copying the image on to a diffrent paper from the regular paper in the printer lite weight paper I would say it was close to news paper. I cut the paper to the size of the a4 placing the paper in the printer. I then decide to sewing machine to then sew into the paper this a technique I have used before. As I am revisting  I decided  to find an artist who works with thread. Victoria villsana This is the image once sewed into .I sat sewed at first I was following a patern . I then lost my way ripped a bit while sewing. I then decided to do a series of photocopy adding left over bits thread
I like my results what I get with sewing into paper although I think this was quite a lazy attempt.  Also flipping the image and photocopying the thread from behind.
this is a work by Victoria villsana
Through her work she explores diffrent cultures I like the black and white with the colour. The texture made with thread .Its a beautiful contrast

What is Fine Art What is Design

Fine Art What Is It ?

Fine art . A piece of work  with more than pretty service infact it might not be pretty
with an idea concept and intention.

How that is expressed comes down to the artist and what medium they desire  .

With fine art the possibilities are endless.

Useing any medium from the the traditional painting sculpture to working nature to instalation art interacting with the viewer

To make it clear anything that the artist delivers with the idea the concept in mind is art .
It takes it away from the traditional idea of what the world once thought art was and was only it is more than painting or sculpture it goes behond the medium what can you show say
Do you want to e evoke something in the audience.

Jenny Saviles  Fine Artist
 Figurative  Painter

This work is called proped.
In the year 1993 Jenny Saville  work was exhibited at London's Cooling Gallery and spotted by Charles saatchi when looking at her work   I like and find the work very express but what makes it fine art  and full of movement the overly large lady is Proped and the poetry on the mirror  the short  . The work visual strikes large lady being Proped up with the short hair  looking down  breast hanging low with this image she is reclaiming the female .
Fashion Designer
Yohji Yamamoto is know as a master Taylor who's work is often seen Avant Garde inattentive ive  original forward I like his work cause it playful colourful other worldly.

Design what is it  ? A object a piece of of furniture a house that has been explored potential inspired by art.  With fashion design they too have a starting point and seek inspiration all around with a concept taking ideas colours shapes historic moments into design but there work is functional and has a purpose to be work although Avent garde Haute Couture  worldly for its beautiful somewhat magical pieces it delivers .  People appreciate the clothing and even collect piece made to measure and serving a purpose.

With messurement size fittings for it to be used ? if I sit down at home and look around I can see a sofa a tv curtains my guitar a lamp shade all regular things that been made for a use a purpose  to sit on a chair that was measured for the living room and picked because it matches the crazy lamp  to shut out the light mesurments for the size of objects make it accessible as a utilised piece of furniture .

Introduction Fabrication

At the start of this jurney just got the paper titled Fabricated Nature.
1st study is still life drawings I choose these bits of nature and man made piece to draw . From this I did pencil drawings ink , ink and water and fineliner.
This is my first drawings I like objects for colours and texture
Pitcular the elderberries. I dont like what I have drawn i feel disconnected from the paper .
Moving on Ink its  one of my favourite mediums to use for its instant fluid movement  on its own I am able to bring more life with the diffrent types of mark making.
Ink and water Bring more flow its gave more depth to what I have done the paper . I could approach it with a bit more care and softness to build up better layers.
